This is the MITUTOYO Digimatic 12 inch calipers. These are electronic digital calipers that are nicely presented in their original wooden box with original documentation. The calipers are well protected in their plastic sleeve and by the foam padding. The calipers appear to be in very good condition.
The model 500-232 have the following features,: zero set On/Off, inch/mm control buttons. Displays decimal inches, fractions, and metric. The calipers have a resolution 0.0005″ (0.01mm) and an accuracy +/0.003″. These calipers are equipped with an SPC Output for sending data to a PC or data collector for statistical analysis or data recording. These calipers are constructed out of stainless steel, with large LCD display.
Disclaimer : My experience lies predominantly with carpentry & woodworking tools. However I recently purchased a large quantity of items from a 50 year old collection. Within this collection I discovered numerous items from other fields such as engineering, mechanics, machinist, and surveying.
My knowledge regarding these tools may be limited, however, rest assured that Vintage Resurrection extensively researches, examines and tests each item. The testing of items goes as so far that they can perform their basic duties. A surface gauge and dial indicator, for example, are tested so far as to ensure the surface gauge sits sturdily, that all arms and attachments appear to be present and operational, & that the dial indicator is able to be zeroed and reactive to pressure as it should.
Another example would be the testing of transits. Transits are tested as far as the telescope functions and focuses as it should.
